Tri-State Early Childhood Retreat set for Sept. 27

HARTINGTON — Investing in professional development is essential for early childhood professionals — not only to meet state licensing requirements but to grow in their roles as educators and caregivers.

An upcoming opportunity to earn professional development hours is the 2025 Tri-State Early Childhood Retreat, taking place Sept. 27, at Ponca State Park. This regional event invites early childhood professionals from Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota for a morning of learning, reflection and connection.

This regional gathering is designed to inspire, connect and support early childhood educators through meaningful conversation and professional development.

With the theme “The Power of Emotion, The Peace of Balance,” this year’s retreat focuses on emotional intelligence and work-life harmony — two powerful tools for both personal and professional growth.

The day will feature engaging sessions led by Leticia Meitzen, an experienced presenter from Community Action of Nebraska. Attendees will explore how emotions influence daily interactions and l earn strategies for achieving balance in a fast-paced world.

The retreat runs from 8:30 a.m.-1:15 p.m., at the Ponca State Park Visitor Center. Registration includes a day park pass, brunch, and amazing incentives. Participants will receive four professional development hours, and translation services will be available for Spanishspeaking attendees.

Join us for two sessions. Registration opens Aug. 1(https://go.unl.edu/tristate2025) and will remain open through Sept. 19. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
