RANDOLPH — After 16 years of working in education, Kyle Conroy is bringing his experience to the Randolph Public High School this fall.
The new 7-12 Principal and Activities Director has been attending school board meetings and sharing his ideas since July. Thus far, he has attributed to ideas of spreading school spirit and joining Hudl for streaming school events.
Conroy is no stranger to northeast Nebraska or education, as his father was a teacher and coach in Pender.
“I always looked up to him, and no matter where we would go in the state, it seemed like somebody always knew him and would come talk to him; I thought that was the neatest thing,” said Conroy.
He started his higher education at Midland University in Fremont and graduated from Peru State College with a master’s degree. He is now in the process of finishing his 2nd master’s degree from Wayne State College. Out of college, Conroy worked as a para at Manhattan High School in Kansas with the gifted program and the Autism program for two years. He then worked as a K-4 PE teacher at Wabaunsee Senior High School in Alma, Kansas. After two years in Kansas, he returned to Nebraska as a K-12 PE/ Health teacher at Silver Lake Public Schools in Roseland for nine years.
Next, he moved to the Elkhorn Public School district for two years and worked at the Elkhorn Ridge Middle School as a volunteer coach, assistant coach and head coach for football and track.
Now moving up to the Randolph school district, Conroy said he has always intended to stay in Nebraska.
“I was born and raised in Nebraska, and Northeast Nebraska is home for me, and always wanted to end up back in this area to raise my family,” said Conroy. “I am looking forward to being a part of the Randolph school and community.”
He said he has high hopes for the upcoming school year and looks forward to the learning opportunity.
“I am going to work hard to ensure that each student has a positive and fulfilling educational experience while at Randolph Public Schools,” said Conroy.
