McLEAN —Mrs. Geraldine Schroeder of McLean was conferred a master of Science in Education degree from Chadron State College on Thursday. Mrs. Schroeder teaches at North Platte.

RANDOLPH —Mr. and Mrs. Mayo Frederick were awarded this year’s Pierce County Conservation Honor Farm Family award. The Fredericks retired from the farm in 1966. Their two farms are operated by their sons, Clifford and Marvin.

RANDOLPH —William J. Lenhoff, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Lenhoff, has been assigned to Aircraft Carrier America off the coast of Vietnam. SN Lenhoff expects to remain in the Vietnam area for 12 months.

RANDOLPH — The Randolph School District’s Board of Education hired Don Clark as bus coordinator on Tuesday evening. Clark replaces Jack Reed who resigned his position to devote full time to his private business interests.

RANDOLPH — Parishioners of St. John’s Lutheran Church dismantled the old parish house on Monday located east of the church.
The parsonage was purchased in 1905. The late Pastor David Rath was the last to reside there.
The building has been used the past few years for Sunday School classes.

RANDOLPH — The Randolph High Cardinal football team of 52 hopefuls greeted head coach Jim Blessen on Monday as the practice season got underway.
The squad of 12 seniors, 14 juniors, 12 sophomores and 14 freshmen are presently undergoing two-a-day practices in preparation of the season opener on Sept. 5 at Laurel.

RANDOLPH — Five new teachers begin duties at the Randolph schools this fall.
Diane Baker will teach Speech and English in Senior High, she replaces Claudia Casey. Carol Braesch will teach 7-12 Vocal Music, replacing Kevin Kissel. Don Jorn will teach American Government and History at the Senior High School, and be assistant coach in football and basketball. He replaces Kathy Wilson. Kim Romohor is a 1975 graduate of UNL. He replaces Mrs. Jordan and will teach English and Social Studies at the seventh grade level. Arlin Miller will teach sixth grade, he replaces Gail Morten.

RANDOLPH — David Beach is staying with the LaVern Turby family, working as a volunteer at the small Farm Energy Project in Hartington.
David, of Columbus, Ohio, is a senior in college in Richmond, a Quaker four-year Liberal Arts school. He is a Philosophy and Political Science major.

RANDOLPH —Julie Arens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Arens, has been awarded a George E. Haskell scholarship. Julie is a student at the University of Nebraska Lincoln.
