Hall presents synopsis of Girls State experience

COLERIDGE — The American Legion Post #114 and its Auxiliary Unit #114 held their monthly meeting Aug. 4 at the Coleridge Community Building. The units jointly recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

Kennedy Hall, Girls Stater, presented members with the weekly happenings and experience at Girls State held in June in Lincoln.

Kennedy said she enjoyed her week, learned lots, and met lots of new friends, and would recommend for others to go.

Lunch was served after her presentation.

After the lunch Legion and Auxiliary separated and held their monthly meetings.

President V. Gullicksen called the meeting to order. Secretary Brenda Lage called the role with eight members responding.

She also read the minutes of the July meeting, which were approved as read. The treasurer’s report was also given. Motion by M. Storm and seconded by D. Meier to approve the treasurer’s report and to pay bills presented.

2026 membership dues are due, and some were collected at the meeting.

Discussion was held on hosting Bingo at The Embers on Aug. 13 at 6:30 p.m., with members providing bingo prizes and helping with the event.

It was decided there will not be a meeting in September. The next meeting will be Oct. 6.

The meeting was adjourned.
