HARTINGTON — Members of the Hartington City Council are doublechecking the 1980 Census conducted here by taking their own census.
Hartington Mayor Gerry Miller said members of the council have expressed concern that preliminary Census figures, which showed Hartington’s population at 1,563 compared to 1,581 for the 1970 Census, might be inaccurate.
The Census Bureau noted that the figures received last week by the city are "unocial working figures."
