HARTINGTON — Calley Stewart may just be beginning her high school varsity volleyball journey but she has already experienced national success with her game.
The incoming Cedar Catholic sophomore was part of the Midwest Elite Volleyball Club which recently won the 15 and under division at the 2025 AAU Girls’ National Volleyball Championship.
“The experience of winning a national championship was unlike anything I could have ever imagined,” said Stewart. “Getting third at nationals last year made our team determined to win the tournament this year.”
The Midwest Elite was the 14th seed out of 158 teams from nine different states.
They competed over four days and won all 14 games to secure the Championship title.
“Having the opportunity to accomplish this with my best friends is something I will remember for the rest of my life. There is truly no greater feeling, and I am incredibly grateful that I had the opportunity to compete.” said Stewart.
Calley Stewart had struggled with a back injury that prevented her from competing during track season and the start of club volleyball season.
“Although fracturing my back was not how I thought this season would go, being able to come back and play with my team was remarkable. Fracturing my back helped me to be grateful for what I have. I know the Lord does everything for a reason and I wouldn’t change a thing that happened.” Said Stewart.
Volleyball means so much to Calley Stewart.
“The bond that I grew to have with my teammates and coaches will forever be my favorite part of volleyball. I learned so much from all of them and they truly care about me on and off the court.” said Stewart.
Stewart will be a Sophomore this year and is looking forward to the school Volleyball season.
“I am excited to play with my team at Cedar Catholic and I can’t wait to see what the season brings for us,” she said.
This is the last year Calley will be able to play with her older sister, Ava.
She will miss that experience.
“Ava has taught me everything I know, and I would not be where I am now without her,” she said.
Stewart has a bright future in the sport of volleyball and shows no signs of slowing down.
