1955: Morgan begins work as TWA stewardess

RANDOLPH — A fellowship dinner and reception Sunday in the Methodist Church parlors honored Rev. Cecil B. Green, the new pastor of the local church.

He will also be guiding the McLean Methodist Church.

RANDOLPH — Miss Patsy Morgan began work the past week as a stewardess on TWA Airliners and her headquarters are at the Chicago TWA airport.

Miss Morgan had completed a four-weeks intensive training course conducted by TWA at Kansas City on July 13.

RANDOLPH — Gerald Bargstadt, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Bargstadt, arrived at Ford Ord, Calif., from Japan on July 25. He will be discharged August 8.

July 29, 1965

SHOLES — Ludwig Kuhl, Sholes postmaster for the past 15 years, is retiring July 31. Mr. Kuhl was honored at a supper Friday at the Lamp Lounge in Sholes with 28 postmasters and rural carriers and their wives in attendance.

OMAHA — Miss Paulette Jo Bruckner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bruckner of McLean, will graduate from the St. Catherine School of Nursing of Archbishop Bergan Mercy Hospital.

RANDOLPH — The Allen-Eastern Livestock club is celebrating its 25th year of progress Aug. 5 with a picnic at the city park.

RANDOLPH — The Randolph baseball team brought their season record to 11 wins compared to four losses as they stopped Plainview 8 to 4 in a game played here on July 21st. Roger Borst and Jerry Ehlers did a fine job of pitching for Randolph as Rich Wurdinger did the catching.
