1960: Dickes leads Randolph team past Belden

July 13, 1950

RANDOLPH — The Randolph High School band has resumed practices and anyone interested in playing with the band this summer is invited to come to the practice sessions. The band is directed by Gail Landberg and supervised by Supt. Wayne Brower.

RANDOLPH — Leo F. Hickey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hickey of Randolph has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester at Oklahoma A&M College. Hickey is enrolled in the School of Education.

RANDOLPH — Miss Vivian Viergutz left this week from Omaha to visit some relatives in California. Miss Marilyn Sherwood is taking her place at the Randolph Creamery during her absence.

July 21, 1960

RANDOLPH — Jerald Weber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Weber will leave today after visiting at the home of his parents the past two weeks. He will go to Moab, Utah for two weeks and then to Spain for possibly two years. He has been at Magee, Miss., the past year.

RANDOLPH — The Randolph Midget baseball team defeated Belden 7 to 0 in a game played on Sunday and defeated Laurel Friday night 7 to 3.

Jerry Dickes hurled both games for Randolph while Bill Martindale caught. Dickes pitched a one hit game against Belden.
