HARTINGTON — A total of $8,569.94 is being distributed to the school districts of Cedar County from the semi-annual state apportionment for July, J. Mike McCoy, county superintendent of schools, has announced.
The amount represents the distribution of approximately $1.50 per pupil.
McCoy said that in the future the state apportionment would be made only once a year, in January, instead of semi-annually as in the past. The change to the once-a-year system was made at the past session of the state legislature.
Hartington, with the largest school enrollment in the county, received
$642 from the apportionment. Randolph received $387.39; Laurel,
$378.35, and Coleridge, $307.54.
Other town districts in the county received the following amounts: St. Helena, $63.47; Obert, $98.13; Fordyce, $188.52; Magnet,
$98.13; Belden, $156.88, and Wynot, $162.91.
