June 4: A burn permit was requested for the Magnet area.

Hartington area woman called to ask for an ambulance for her husband, who is experiencing extreme hip pain.

Driver called to report smoke on the road between Wausa and Coleridge. ‘1 don’t recognize the smoke. It doesn’t look like burning ditch smoke.” Caller was advised there is a burn permit for that area.

Hartington City Clerk called about a suspected scam email that supposedly originated from the Sheriff s office. She was told it was indeed a scam.

Burn permit issued to Lauren Paulson.

Man calls for a wellness check on someone who did not show up for work. Caller was later informed the person was doing some house remodeling and did not hear the phone.

Caller reported seeing a fire in some trees near Laurel. Laurel Fire Department was dispatched.

June 5: Burn permit issued for Jimmy Christensen, Caller tells a dispatcher that an accident report filed with the county attorney was “’all wrong.” And asks if it can be corrected.

Terry Goweiy is issued a burn permit.

Caller asks for help in tracking down a missing person. Dispatcher said they do not have video footage from Highway 81 and would not be able to help.

Caller asks what the process is for bonding someone out of jail.

June 6: Man reports that he is experiencing issues with his heart and asks for an ambulance. Randolph Rescue is called.

Burn permits issued for Curt Loecker and Bob Heimes and Dave Hansen.

Hartington ambulance paged out for a man who is concerned he is suffering a stroke.

Caller reports she was just rear-ended in a Cedar County T ransit van.

Coleridge ambulance is paged out for a woman who is concerned she may have broken her hip.

June 7: Man called inquiring about bond for an inmate.

Coleridge man called to report someone was in his garage. It doesn’t look like anything is missing, though. 'My garage was open and what is weird is my porch door was open and I know I closed it before I went to bed.” Dispatcher said an officer could stop by, caller said there was no need.

Man called to report he blew a tire on Highway 20.

Driver reported a southbound semi truck on Highway

81 “’with a load of junk in front of me that is losing debris in the road. Metal stuff, like a muffler, and other stuff is falling off. He has so much on that trailer, think there is a tree on there, too.”

Randolph Fire Department issued a burn permit for Paul Leiting.

Laurel Fire Department issued a burn permit to John Abts.

Several people call in to tell the Sheriff they are receiving scam texts that they owe money to someone. Dispatcher advises to, “’Just delete and do not give any information to them.”

Burn permit issued for Danny Olson.

Laurel convenience store called in to request an ambulance for a woman who passed out. They then canceled the call telling the dispatcher, ‘she is conscious again. She is fine.

Caller reported that someone fell and is in great pain. Coleridge ambulance dispatched for woman who fell. She did not want medical help so there was no transport, though.

Coleridge resident called in to say someone was riding a moped on the school football field.

June 8: Caller reported she hit a deer by Gbert late the night before.

Man called to say his father is being harassed. Someone keeps texting him and saying “he is going to get us pulled over for speeding or he is going to beat us up.”

Coleridge woman called to report a “rabid looking mangy raccoon at the front door. My dog started going crazy and that is when I saw it. I went and got my pistol but it was gone.” Dispatcher advised he would contact a Game, Fish and Parks officer.

Caller said a car is parked by his place and they are letting their dog run across private property.

Man calls to ask for a welfare check on a teenage girl having some serious stress issues and he is worried about her.

Laurel caller reported there is a dog in her yard that keeps barking and would like to have someone check into it.

June 9: Bow Valley man called to say too many people are driving down the main road in Bow Valley way too fast. “I have small kids and so do the neighbors. Kids drive through here at over 60 miles per hour. Now that school is out, it happens all day. That’s how I know it’s kids. When school was in session, it happened just in the evenings.'

Man called asking to get the name of the person connected with a license plate number he had. Dispatcher said he was unable to give that information out. “There was a suspicious vehicle that just pulled up in front of my house and took a picture of just my house. He drove through West Side Acres and did the same thing. Once he realized I was following him, he booked it.”

Laurel man asked for a welfare check on his wife who has been acting strangely and hasn’t been herself lately. Man called to report a stolen firearm. Dispatcher asked him to come into the office to fill out a report and to make sure he has the serial number of the gun.
