Wuebben earns high honors in statewide speech contest

LINCOLN — Cedar County 4-H member, Clara Wuebben, daughter of Craig and Anne Wuebben, Fordyce, competed at the Nebraska State 4-H Premier Communication Event in the following contests: Illustrated Presentation, Impromptu Speech, and Radio PSA.

The two-day event was held at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln East Campus, June 19-20.

This event was designed to provide youth with the opportunity to showcase their learning and skills in communication, explore issues related to the communication industry, and to discover college and career opportunities.

Wuebben participated in the junior division of Prepared Speech and received a purple.

In the Illustrated Presentation contest for the Junior division, Wuebben received a purple and a special recognition of being one of the top five competitors in the entire category.

This is the second year W uebben has received this honor.
