Four nights of music to be on display at this year's Fair
HARTINGTON — With the Cedar County Fair just two weeks away, preparations are in order.
This year’s event will run from July 16-20 and will be kicked off by a flag-raising ceremony July 16, followed by a hamburger feed.
The Cedar County Talent Show will then be held in the open class building at 7:30 p.m. Registration is open through July 10 for anyone wanting to take part in the talent show.
The PRCA rodeo will again be held Thursday night. This year’s event will debut a new feature — an instant replay screen.
Friday kicks off the three nights of entertainment as the Cedarstock Musicfest begins.
With six bands in total and three headliners, the event is sure to draw big crowds.
Day one features 27-year-old singer and songwriter Dylan Marlowe.
Day two is headlined by 39-year-old singer, songwriter, and reality television show Survivor contestant Chase Rice.
Sunday holds the free barrel racing show starting at 11:30 a.m.
Singer and songwriter Ashley Cooke will take to the grandstand stage Sunday night.
All concerts start at 8:30 p.m. and tickets range from $25 to $35. “We’ve got three great nights of bands this year,” said Greg Heine, Fair Board president.
Another addition to the fair this year will be expanded seating for the concerts.
“We added a new bleacher section onto our grandstand that’s got a better ABA (Architectural Barriers Act) ramp,” said Heine.
Along with improved disability access and wheelchair seating, the bleachers will add an extra 185 seats, said Heine.
