RANDOLPH - The Farmers and City Slickers softball game has been postponed until Monday night because of conflicts on the original date.
Monday night at 8:30 will see the two rival teams square away for their annual game, with proceeds going to the Junior Legion and Midget baseball teams.
The benefit game is under the sponsorship of the Community club. John Pock is chairman in charge. Harold Paulsen and Clarence Breding are lining up the Farmers and Marvin Weber and Russell Van Slyke will be at the head of the Slickers team.
The fans are always assured of plenty of action and merriment in the annual tangle and an evening of fun is promised.

RANDOLPH - A Quonset grain storage building, which will have a capacity of 40,000 bushels is being erected in Randolph, work having begun last Thursday.
The Quonset is being erected by Dennis Elevator on the M & O right-of-way east of the depot. The building will be of 40x100 dimensions. Dennis said it is expected the building will be completed within 30 days.

RANDOLPH - ‘’A friend in need is a friend indeed” according to an old adage and for Mr. and Mrs. Phil Ballweber, Randolph farmers, truer words were never spoken.
While Mr. Ballweber was in a hospital at Rochester, Minn. for three weeks and later convalescing at home, his neighbors planted corn, cut alfalfa, and after he came home put up hay on his farm.
On May 30, Alfred Schutt, Vernon Rudebusch, Ervin Haselhorst, Mike McDonald, Eldon Robinson, Harry Gosch planted 11 acres of corn.
Mr. Ballweber had been unable to complete planting of this plot because of the draught. Mrs.
Gosch and Mrs. Schutt served lunch to the men.
The alfalfa was cut June 8, when Vernon Rudebusch, Ben Lienemann, Jack Lienemann, Clarence Wessel came to the farm for this job.
The next day, the corn was cultivated by Clarence Wessel, Vernon Rudebusch, Ben Lienemann, Arnold Lienemann, Duane Lienemann.
The hay was cut, raked and stacked June 13 by Alfred Schutt, Robert McDonald, Ervin Haselhorst, Larry Robinson, Bill Shelton and Marlyn Kruse.
Mr. Ballweber returned home June 11, and is convalescing from surgery. Mrs. Ballweber was in Rochester with him some of the time.

OSMOND - Rev. Herman Stahl will celebrate the Golden Jubilee of his ordination to the Priesthood at 10:30 Mass, June 29, at St. Mary’s church at Osmond where he served as pastor for 27 years.
A dinner, honoring Rev. Stahl, will be served at noon to the honoree and other clergymen attending the observance.
Rev. Stahl was ordained June 29, 1910 by the Archbishop of Genoa in Genoa, Italy. He came to the United States in the fall of 1910 and has been active in the Archdiocese of Omaha since that time, serving pastorates at Butte and Osmond.
In September of 1958 he retired and is now living in retirement in Randolph.

RANDOLPH -Vincent D. Hartz, owner of the Hartz Pharmacy in Randolph, will observe his 10th anniversary as a Randolph business man in July. Mr. Hartz purchased the drug store from M.
M. Bowles in July, 1950.
Mr. Hartz is a native of Lincoln and a graduate of the pharmacy college at the University of Nebraska. He was employed as a pharmacist at Ravenna and Cozad prior to coming to Randolph.
Mrs. Hartz is the former Claudia Blair of Brunswick. The couple have four children, Kay, 15, Joe, 12, Dick, 9, and Mary, 2.
An independent drug store, the firm features a complete line of pharmaceutical supplies and many other items typically offered at drug stores.
The store was modernized and remodeled three years ago.
