RANDOLPH — Don Rossach, 14year old Randolph youth, added to his sprint accomplishments by running a second place silver medal in the 100 yard dash in competition in the AAU Junior Olympics at Omaha Saturday.
Don also placed first in the 220, running it in :23.4, his fastest time to date.

RANDOLPH — Miss Donna Bauer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Bauer, has completed 2,100 hours of training at the Stewart School of hairstyling in Sioux City, Iowa.

Melvin Brunssen has been honored for making the Dean’s List for the Term at Briar Cliff College in Sioux City Iowa. Ramona is a 1977 graduate of Randolph High School. Tamera Korth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Paul Korth, was named to the Dean’s Honor Roll at Kearney State College for the last semester June 19, 1985
RANDOLPH — Mrs. Marvern Jones was hired as the new Randolph City Clerk-Treasurer on Tuesday evening following an interviewing process that involved five applicants for the position. Jones was appointed to the position by Mayor Roger Johnson with the approval of the councilmen present.

RANDOLPH — Edward F.
Gerber was selected for the position of Assistant Patrol Agent in Charge of the U.S., Border Patrol Station at Campo, Calif. For the past 12 years, Agent Gerber has been a member of the United States Border Patrol, Agent Gerber is the son of Bernice Gerber and the late Ed Gerber.
He is a 1962 graduate of St.
Frances High School and received a B. S. degree at San Angelo State University in Texas in 1968.

RANDOLPH — Randolph boxer Ed Reimers received a certificate of appreciation for being “the most dedicated boxer,” according to Elliot Arens. Arens said Ed never missed a practice and he thought that deserved recognition.

RANDOLPH — The halls of the RHS 1911 school house are falling as destruction and construction continue. Cranes from the Traum Company of Sioux City continue to chip away at the 1911 brick RHS building and load by load it’s disappearing into the past and construction of the new structure takes place just a few feet away.

RANDOLPH — The annual Women’s Alumni Volleyball Tournament was played at the Randolph City Park, with 10 teams.
Claiming first place was the class of 1981. Team members were Diane (Moser) Lukens, Alice (Wattier) Patent, Kathie (Backer) Nordhues, Sandy (Lange) Becker, Shelly (Strathman) Foxworthy, Tracy (Borst) Anderson and Lisa (Bach) Schurman.

RANDOLPH — Another missing piece of the staffing puzzle at the Randolph Public School apparently fell into place last Monday as the Randolph Board of Education voted to offer a contract to an applicant to become the high school Business instructor. The offer was extended to Mark Lech to fill the vacancy created by the departure of Chris Janke.
Last month, the Board hired Jason Huggins for the open high school English position.
Supt. Marlene Uhing told the board Mr. Lech has a successful student teaching record, including some practice teaching in California.
