RANDOLPH — The Lied Randolph Public Library is thrilled to welcome a special guest as part of its 2024 Summer Reading Program.
On Thursday June 27, award-winning author and illustrator Bruce Arant from Omaha will visit the library to inspire and educate young readers through a unique behindthe- scenes look at the world of picture book illustration.
Students in fourth grade and up will kick off the day with a session at 9 a.m., followed by a presentation for 1-3 graders at 10:30 a.m.
During these engaging sessions, children will have the rare opportunity to explore the creative process of illustrating a picture book. Through hands-on, interactive activities, Arant will demonstrate how pictures and storytelling work together to bring books to life.
Library staff are enthusiastic about the visit, emphasizing how valuable it is for children to meet real-life creators and gain insight into the world of publishing and illustration. The event promises to be both educational and fun — sparking imagination, creativity, and maybe even future authors and illustrators.
Families are encouraged to mark their calendars and bring their young readers to this inspiring event.
