Hartington girls stop Randolph at home and away

HARTINGTON - The Hartington Heat softball team took care of Randolph in a doubleheader June 10 played in Hartington and won a single game against the same team on June 12 in Randolph.

In the game on June 12 in Randolph, the Heat exploded for seven runs in the first inning and pounded out 15 hits over the entire contest.

Hartington opened the contest with four singles and a double to take command from the first pitch.

Grutsch got the win in the circle with Kelly coming on in relief as the duo combined to limit Randolph to just three hits and the single run.

In the nightcap of the double header in Hartington on June 10, the two teams played to a 4-4 tie at the end of the first inning.

The Heat posted a couple of runs in second then put the game away in the third with eight runs to claim the win.

Hans took the win in the circle going three innings while allowing just two hits and striking out eight.
