RANDOLPH - Rev. R. O. Louthan, pastor of the Methodist church, is leaving Randolph after eight years of service at the local church to assume the position of dean of men at the Chicago Evangelistic Institute at University Park near Oskaloosa, Ia. These duties will start at the opening of the fall term, but he will assume the pastorate of the Deacon Methodist church near the college before the first of July.

During the Louthan pastorate here the church has shown a constant growth in membership and worship attendance. Over 160 new members have been received into the church during that time, the Methodist Youth Fellowship group membership has grown, and a young married peoples group formed.
In a material way, improvements at the church have been many in the last eight years. New carpets and velvet back drapes, an organ, complete new gas heating system, new worship centers, new communion service, public address system with record playing attachment in the tower, time clock for lighting the south window of the church, motion picture projector are included among the major improvements and additions. Both the church and parsonage have been painted and redecorated.
The Louthans came here from Meadow Grove and Rev. Louthan also served the Battle Creek church.
