RANDOLPH -For some time a project has been on foot to build a swimming pool at Randolph and this week the matter has come to a more definite position. As now planned the pool will be financed by

some 50 to 60 guarantors, men who have signified their willingness to stand back of the proposition, these men representing both business and farming interests.

No objections having been filed with the city clerk the pool will be located in the northeast corner of the city park.

As now planned, the pool will be a large one, 60x100 feet with a bath house about 60 feet long, the deep end of the pool will be about 10 feet sloping up to about one foot.

In all ways the pool to comply with state laws which provide for ladders, for a safety rope, a shower, circulation of water, etc.

It is planned to supply the pool with warm water from the city plant, water that is subject to a heat of 140 degrees or more which will make it free from germ life and by the time it reaches the pool through pipes, be warm enough to lose the unpleasant chill of water direct from a deep well.

The plan is not a money making one and charges for season tickets for adults and children will be reasonable. When funds sufficient to pay for the construction have been taken in the pool will be turned over to the city.

No plans or specifications have yet been adopted, other than that construction will be good and of the latest type.

A committee will visit pools in this part of the state seeking for information as to building plans, cost, operation, fees, etc.

Should all plans go through it will be a good thing for Randolph and provide bathing and swimming facilities at home, while at present our young people are prone to travel by auto to other places that they may enjoy this sport.

Aside from the healthfulness of bathing, the learning to swim is something every boy and girl would be advised to learn.
