Cedar County 4-H presentations contest held

HARTINGTON — The Cedar County 4-H Presentation Contest was held May 28 at Hartington Public Library.

The 4-H members gave presentations using multimedia illustrations. An Illustrated Presentation is a live talk where participants use visual aids such as props, posters, computer-based visuals, handouts, or video to demonstrate and explain a topic.

Following each presentation the judge and audience were given the opportunity to ask the 4-H members questions about their presentation subject.

The contest serves as an excellent platform for youth to exhibit their communication skills and learning. Four outstanding presentations were presented to family and friends.

Brooklyn Heimes, daughter of Julie & Steve Heimes of Wynot, received a Clover Kid rainbow ribbon for her presentation on “Lifecycle of a Frog.”

Robbie Wuebben, son of Anne & Craig Wuebben of Fordyce, received a Clover Kid rainbow ribbon for his presentation on “How to Change a Lightbulb.”

Kaylin Kathol, daughter of Katrina & Tyler Kathol of Hartington, received a purple ribbon for her junior presentation on “How to Make Waffles.”

Clara Wuebben, daughter of Anne & Craig Wuebben of Fordyce, received a purple ribbon for her junior presentation on “Enjoyable Edible Earth.” She also received the medal for the Overall Champion Presentation.

Clara will be representing Cedar County at the State Premier Communication Event on June 19 & 20 in Lincoln.

The Cedar County 4-H Presentation Contest was held May 28 at Hartington Public Library. Those earning honors were: Robbie Wuebben, Clara Wuebben, Kaylin Kathol, and Brooklyn Heimes.
