Weather, equipment force a late opening at local pool

LAUREL — The Laurel community swimming pool was unable to open as originally scheduled May 27.

The pool heater is not working properly and city crews are waiting on parts to repair it.

Because of that and cold temperatures it has been decided to wait until May 31 to officially open the swimming pool to the public this year.
