OMAHA - Lady Cardinal Mabel Ngebeh and Cardinal, Luke Harder competed in the 2025 Class D Nebraska Track and Field Championships at Burke Stadium on May 23-24 in the discus and high jump respectively.
The pair of Randolph juniors finished out of the medals but both were inside the top 20 in their events and both will return for another shot at a medal next season.
Dundy County-Stratton ran away with both of the team titles with the boys team winning 87--
62 over Axtell and the girls more than doubling runner-up Nebraska Christian 86-42.
Ngebeh came in 16th in the discus with a heave of 104-feet-3-inches which she posted on her second of three throws. Her first attempt she hit 101-06 and on her third attempt she fouled to end up with the mark.
Dundy County-Stratton’s Kennedy Bailey won the event with a toss of 133-09 while Karlene Kepler of North Central was second at 131-03.
Harder cleared the bar at 5-10 and wound up in 19th position based on misses. He cleared 5-08 on his first attempt, cleared 5-10 on his second jump before going out at 6-feet with three misses.
A make at 6-0 would have put him in the top
15 and 6-02 could have put him in the hardware.
Brock McCarter of Overton won the Class D high jump, getting over the bar at 6-08, Ethan Latta of Dundy County-Stratton was second with a successful jump at 6-06.
