LAUREL — Laurel will honor those who served in the U.S. Military with special programs on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26.
The public is invited to participate in the following activities: At 10 a.m. there will be a Memorial Day program at the school gym. Laurel Police Chief Ron Lundahl will be the featured speaker.
The public is invited to attend a short service following this program at the Laurel Cemetery which will include a prayer, laying of the wreath to honor the unknown soldier, traditional “roll call” of deceased servicemen and women, a salute to fallen servicemen, and the playing of Taps.
Anyone wishing to help decorate graves is asked to be at the cemetery on Friday, May 23 at 6 p.m. Help is also being requested to help take down decorations at 5 p.m. Monday.
Coleridge will also be celebrating Memorial Day with many different activities planned for the day.
The Coleridge American Legion and Auxiliary will present a Memorial Day program May 26 at the Memorial Plaza in downtown Coleridge.
The traditional ceremony will take place at 11 a.m., Monday, followed by lunch at the Coleridge Community Building from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
