Bear golfers end season at District meet

NORFOLK — The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge golf team saw its season come to an end at Fair Play Golf Course on May 19 in the District C-3 Golf Tournament.

The Bears shot a 395 over 18 holes.

Norfolk Catholic took advantage of their home course familiarity to win the team title with a 309. Battle Creek was second at 325 and Pender grabbed the final team ticket for the state meet with a 336.

The Knights’ William Brockhaus took medalist honors after carding a 72, Cooper Wachholz of Pierce was second with a 76 and Tri-County Northeast’s Ben Jorgensen was third after a scorecard playoff after also posting a 76.

Talon Carson was the low Bear after carding a 95, Cade Johnson added a 96, Gibson Roberts shot an even 100 and Tanner Thompson and Luke Erwin each shot a 104.
