LEIGH - The Randolph Cardinal golf team teed it up in the D-2 District Golf Meet at Club 91 near here on May 19 and ended the tournament in sixth place after firing a 384.
Creighton won the team title getting to the clubhouse at 341 as a team, Bloomfield was second at 358 and Archangels Catholic grabbed the final pass to next week’s Class D Nebraska Golf Championships at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus May 28-29.
Creighton’s Calvin Wilmes took medalist honors after carding a 78, Archangel Catholic’s Jacob Keller was next at 79, Teegan Burns of Creighton was third with an 82, Trevor Hoffman of Clarkson/Leigh was fourth with an 84 and Jake Munter from Wausa rounded out the top five with an 84 but was fourth after a scorecard playoff.
Ryan Engel led the the Redbirds after posting a 91 over 18 holes which put him in 22nd place. Bentley Reimers shot a 95, Shaw Backer came in with a 96, Tate Brodersen a 102 and Logan Lienemann carded a 113.
