HARTINGTON — An outbreak of measles in Hartington last week prompted local and state health officials to hold a free vaccination clinic for children and young adults at the school.
Dr. C.J. Vlach said his clinic has been informed of or treated approximately 24 cases of rubeola, also known as the hard measles or 10-days measles.

RANDOLPH—Randolph was shut down Tuesday when a major fire swept through the downtown area destroying one building and damaging several others.

The HPS boys’ track team earned the District track title during District Competition.

HARTINGTON—It looks as if Cedar County will be without an agriculture Cooperative Extension educator until fall. The board has been trying to find a replacement for the position since the departure of former agriculture educator Brady Kappler.

NELIGH—Cedar’s golf team earned runner-up in District competition. The Trojans will compete at the state meet at Mahoney Golf Course in Lincoln.

HARTINGTON—Hartington welcomed Wayne into the Cedar County League by allowing the newcomers to earn a 14-4 decision in seven innings. Hartington was led at the plate by leadoff hitter Mike Lammers, who went 3-4 at the plate.

HARTINGTON—Cedar Catholic won two more golf events last week to finish the regular season undefeated.
Cedar won the Plainview/ Randolph Triangular at the Hartington Golf Course, edging out Plainview for the title. Jon Hoesing earned medalist honors.

HARTINGTON— Janell and Ronda Burbach make a pretty special duo.
They are not only twins, they are also best friends — best friends who happen to share the honor of being the top two students in the Cedar Catholic High School 2005 graduating class. Janell gave a speech as class Valedictorian, while Rhonda spoke as the class Salutatorian.
