WYNOT — Break-ins at two Wynot bars early Friday morning netted thieves about $150, Sheriff John Riibe reported. Charlie Newman’s bar and Ray Promes’ bar were robbed.

Between $85 and $90 were taken from the cash register and about $30 from the juke box in Newman’s bar. Some checks were also stolen here. About $20 was taken from the juke box and bowling machine in the Promes bar. Entrance was gained at both bars by breaking a glass in the front door and unlocking it, the Sheriff explained. It is believed the breakins took place after 12:30 a.m., Friday. Sheriff Riibe said a similar break-in and robbery took place in Wausa and there may be some connection in the incidents.
