Reader urges residents to better control barking dogs

Letters from our readers

This letter is intended for all the dog owners in this town who insist on tying your dog to a tree, clothes line, or any other object, and letting it bark for hours on end. Whatever gave you the idea that someone wants to listen this all day/night long?

Not only are you being very inconsiderate of your neighbors, you’re also being very cruel to your dog. Please, walk your dog, train it properly, and give it the love that it not only needs, but deserves.

They’re are far too many people in this town letting their dogs bark for hours on end. There are barking laws on the books and they need to be enforc ed. The current situation is unacceptable.

— Daniel Kruse, Hartington
