SUMMERLAND - The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears golf team traveled to Summerland Golf Course for the first-ever Greater Northeast Activities Conference and the Bobcats took advantage of a little home cooking, coming away with the title after firing a 337.
West Holt was second at 346, Hartington-Newcastle was third with a 355 while the Bears finished eighth after carding a 386.
Summerland’s Michael Koenig edged HNS’s Kayne Gratzfeld on the first playoff hole as both players posted a 76 over 18 holes.
Gibson Roberts paced the LCC five with a 91 which was good enough for 17th.
Cade Johnson, Talon Carson and Tanner Thompson carded 98, 98 and 99 respectively and Luke Erwin posted a 103.
Kolten Settje shot a 101 for the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge junior varsity, Paxton Hoeppner came in with a 110 and Caleb Erwin fired a 119 for the JV squad.
The Bears were set to be back in action May 12 in the Randolph Invitational before heading to Wayne May 13.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge will head to Fair Play Golf Course outside of Norfolk for the C-3 District Tournament hosted by Battle Creek.
