Cardinal golfers compete at Stanton invitational

STANTON — Randolph hit the road for the Stanton Invitational on May 9 and ended up 7th in the team race after firing a 362.

The Norfolk junior varsity team won the team title with a 336, Chambers/Wheeler Central was second just two shots back and Archangels Catholic of Humphrey turned in the third best score of the day with a 339.

Archangels Catholic’s Andrew Kosch won medalist honors after carding a 76, Chambers/ Wheeler Central’s William Jesse was second at 77 and Jace Gall from the Norfolk JV’s was third with a 77 after a score card playoff.

Randolph’s Shaw Backer fired the low round for the Cardinals after posting an 85 for 15th place.

Bentley Reimers was next with an 88, Ryan Engel came in with a 93; Logan Lienemann carded a 96 and Tate Brodersen shot a 100.

The Cardinals were set to host their own invitational on May 12 before heading to the Ponca Invite on May 14.

Randolph will play in the District D-2 Golf Tournament on May 19 at the Club 81 Golf Course. Clarkson/Leigh will host the district.
