LAUREL - The Wynot track teams traveled to Haskell Field in Laurel May 8 for the Jim Winch Invitational put on by Winside.
The Blue Devils and Lady Blue Devils each placed seventh in their respective divisions with the boys team putting up 28 points and the girls team managing 7.5 points on the day.
Tri County Northeast won the team titles with the Wolfpack compiling 118 points to slip past Wausa with 115 while the Lady Wolfpack also got past Wausa 152-120.
Lane Heimes and Braylon Hans paced the Blue Devils on the track and in the field events.
Heimes was third in the 100 with a time of 12.6 seconds and cleared 5-feet-8-inches in the high jump which was good enough for fourth.
Hans was third in the long jump after hitting the sand at 18’ 7.5” and placed sixth in the 200.
The Wynot 3,200-meter relay squad of Jace Lange, Kreyton Koch, Trey Gowery and Bentley Guenther came in third and the 1,600-meter team of Heimes, Lange, Koch and Hans placed sixth.
The Lady Blue Devils earned points from Tiara Sudbeck, Addison Sharpe and Eliza Lange.
Sudbeck was third in the 400 after clocking a 1-minute-5.49-seconds in the race.
Sharpe was fifth in the 800 and Lange cleared the bar at 4’ 7” to place sixth.
Both teams will travel down to Humphrey May 14 for the D-3 District Track and Field Meet hosted by Archangels Catholic.
