Cedar County Tourism Board approves three applications

COLERIDGE – The Cedar County Tourism Board met April 11 at the Coleridge Middle School to review grant applications received for the Spring 2025 funding cycle.

Old business was reviewed and the Facebook page to promote Cedar County Tourism was created and is named “Visit Cedar County Nebraska.” This Facebook page is for all communities in Cedar County. The Board is working on finding contacts in each community that will help to share events posted, as well as share the events their community hosts.

For new business, a Brick and Mortar application was received from Hartington Creative Council. Hartington Creative Council was awarded $2,500.00 for a Mini-Mural Project. Jacie motioned to approve; Donna seconded. Motion approved.

Two Advertisement and Promotional applications were received.

Reaching Out Around Randolph (ROAR) was awarded $315 for advertising for the Randolph Community Fair to be held July 11-13. Jacie motioned to approve; Brooke seconded. Motion approved. Friends of Randolph was awarded $1000 for Light Pole Banners for advertising. Donna motioned for approval; Brooke seconded. Motion approved August 31, 2025 is the next deadline for submitting funding requests to publicize events, or to create or improve physical structures that draw visitors to Cedar County. Grant applications and guidelines can be found online at the Cedar County Nebraska website, HYPERLINK “https://cedarcountyne.gov/” https://cedarcountyne. gov/ , under Lodging Tax Grant Application.

Entities can apply once each calendar year for up to $2500 in Bricks and Mortar/Improvement and $1000 in Advertising/Promotion/Publicity support. Grant requests must include estimates/bids related to the project or event, to support the funds being requested.

If funded, applicants must submit a project report to the CCTB, including documentation of expenses, and reports must be postmarked no later than 60 days after the date of the event that was supported or the date by which the bricks and mortar project was completed.

Funded organizations who do not submit timely reports are not eligible for future funding.
