LAUREL - Laurel-Concord-Coleridge hosted its own golf invitational at CedarView Country Club April 17 and Talon Carson paced the Bears after firing an 80 for 18 holes which was good enough for fifth place individually.
Tekamah-Herman won the team title shooting a 330, Ponca was second at 336 and Cedar Catholic took third with a 348.
The Bears were seventh with a four-player total of 368.
Tekamah-Herman’s Brody Rogers was the medalist on the day carding a 74, Jace Wahls from Ponca was second with a 78, Rogers’ teammate, Griffin Breckenridge, was third at 79 and Ponca’s Landon Uthof ended up fourth after a scorecard playoff, also firing a 79.
Following Carson for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge was Gibson Roberts, who was a single stroke out of the medals posting an 89. Tanner Thompson placed 34th with a 96, Kolten Settje fired a 104 for 45th and Cade Johnson was 47th with a 105.
The Bears also fielded a junior varsity team which finished 12th in the 16-team tournament with a round of 416.
Luke Erwin shot the low round for the JV squad finishing 28th individually with a 92, Paxton Hoeppner was 41st with a 102, Caleb Erwin carded a 105, Parker Hoeppner came in with a 117, Connor Korth was at 199, Jake Lipp shot a 134 and Eli Haisch carded a 136.
LCC will hit the road to Fairplay Golf Course near Norfolk for the Lutheran High Northeast Invitational on April 24.
