WINSIDE –Winside Public Schools will be welcoming a new leader this summer –former Randolph Public Schools superintendent Je Hoesing.
At a recent meeting, the Winside school board greenlighted a oneyear contract for Hoesing as the interim superintendent.
His hiring follows the departure of superintendent Andrew Oner, who accepted a position with Falls City Public Schools.
“I'm ready to get back into school administration again after a twoyear hiatus and am excited to have that happen at Winside schools,” Hoesing said. “Living and working near this district, I've watched them make a lot of positive strides the last few years in their budget, facilities, sta$ng and overall educational programs.”
Hoesing served as superintendent of Randolph Public Schools for 10 years before retiring in 2023.
During his tenure, he spearheaded numerous facility and infrastructure upgrades and played a role in launching the Cardinal Kids Learning Center, a preschool and daycare program.
Since retiring, he has served as an adjunct professor at Wayne State College and works as a substitute bus driver. “I'm looking forward to learning more about this district and their students and hope I can serve them well,” Hoesing said of Winside. Hoesing will take the helm as interim leader at the start of the next school year, when board members will likely begin the process of hiring a permanent replacement, according to Shari Backer with the Nebraska Association of School Boards, which is assisting with the hire.
