Neb. Sports Council kicks off new season with the Nebraska Showdown

LINCOLN — The Nebraska Sports Council (NSC) will kick off its 2025 season this weekend with the Nebraska Showdown, a JVAsanctioned volleyball tournament co-hosted with Nebraska Juniors Volleyball and VCNebraska. The event will feature 112 top junior-level teams from six states.

Action begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, at both Speedway Sports Complex and Kinetic Sports Complex in Lincoln. Teams will compete in pool play Saturday, followed by bracket play Sunday.

NSC Director of Operations, Ashley Kramer, said the tournament will be a great showcase- not only for the region’s top players, but also for Lincoln’s elite volleyball clubs and their home venues.

Event Sponsors include Bison, Inc., Visit Lincoln, Goodcents, Yankee Hill Brick, Pepsi-Cola of Lincoln, Southeast Nebraska Medical Reserve Corps, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, B&R Stores, Inc. and Digital Sky.
