LAUREL — The Cedar Catholic Trojan golf team traveled down to CedarView Country Club April 17 and played in the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Invitational where they finished third in the team standings after carding a 348.
Tekamah-Herman won the team title with a 330,Ponca was second at 336. Brody Rogers from Tekamah-Herman was the individual champion firing a 74, four shots better than Jace Wahls of Ponca.
Cedar Catholic’s Langston Christensen shot the low round of the day for the Trojans with an 82 which got him in the medals in eighth place.
“My driver was good all day and I putted pretty well on my front nine, but the putter kind of fell off a bit down the stretch here,” Christensen said. “The wind is what it is, you kind of get used to it, it doesn’t really bother me I just go out and try to play my game. It was a pretty good day today.”
Maverick Heine also found himself in the medals after shooting an 18-hole total of 86 which placed him 11th.
Toby Heine and Memphis Ulrich were next for Cedar Catholic after each carded a 90 and Landyn Keiser shot a 92.
The Trojans are set to compete in the O’Neill Invitational on April 23, while another Cedar team will compete in the Wausa Invitational at Rolling Hills Golf Course.
