Ground broken for Veterans’ Memorial

Ground broken for Veterans’ Memorial
Laurel veterans Shane Kinkaid, Regg Ward, Carolyn Alt, Jim Thompson, Dwayne Freeman and Bob Dickey broke ground at the Laurel Area Veterans Memorial site on Wednesday, April 9.

LAUREL — A ground-breaking ceremony was held last week for the new Laurel Area Veterans Memorial.

The memorial will be located on the property just east of the Laurel Community Center.

Underground electrical and concrete work are scheduled to begin within the next two weeks.

American Legion Post 54 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4504 members kicked off a capital campaign for a Laurel Area Veterans Memorial in early 2024.

The campaign brought in donations from around the Laurel area and around the country.

Donations are still welcome and much appreciate. Any donations can be mailed to: Laurel Area Community Foundation Fund PO Box 278 Laurel, NE 68745.
