Freeman to take part in elite wrestling tourney

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Cedar Catholic High School freshman Evie Freeman will compete this weekend in the AAU Girls Twin Rivers National Wrestling Tournament.

The April 11-13 event takes place at the MidAmerican Energy Company RecPlex in West Des Moines.

Freeman, who will wrestle at 115 in the tournament, will compete for a Nebraska All Star team comprised of wrestlers from across the state — all the way from Cozad and Lexington down to Auburn.

The Green Gladiators team is coached by Lexington Coach Art Benderas and Fort Calhoun Coach Ben Gossman.
