HARTINGTON — Pete Tipton, Hartington High’s gifted senior basketball star, has amassed more honors and awards than any other player in recent history.
Pete was named to the Omaha World Herald First Team All- State squad in Class C as compiled by Conde Sargent, prep sports editor. It was stated that Tipton scored more points for the season than any other high school player in the entire state this past year.

HARTINGTON — Grand Opening festivities will be held Friday and Saturday, April 4 and 5, by Hartington’s newest business, R.J. Auto.
Owned and operated by Randy Pick, R.J. Auto is primarily a body and fender repair shop, but will also be selling used cars and is offering 24-hour wrecker service with inside storage available.

HARTINGTON — On March 29 Mayor Kneifl signed an official proclamation declaring April 5 Smile Saturday in Hartington.
No frowns will be permitted from dawn to dusk that day. Smile Saturday is part of the Muscular Dystrophy Smile Project organized by the FHA Chapter.

HARTINGTON — A $60,000 Federal Rural Development Grant to the City of Hartington was announced Tuesday, by Rep. Charles Thone.
The funds from the Farmers Home Administration will be used to help develop the new Industrial Park southwest of town.
Work to be done includes installing sewer lines to serve the area, land leveling, and construction of roads to connect the Industrial Park with Highways 15 and 84.
