HARTINGTON - Hiccoughs of an epidemic nature have at last made their way to Cedar County, according to local physicians.
Among those who were ill with them were P.A. Sullivan of Wynot and Joseph Wohlman.
After having them for several days and consulting doctors, they took the prescribed remedy of drinking 10 drops of tincture of iodine in a glass of water and were cured.

FORDYCE — The new garage at Fordyce has been opened to the public but a few days and the proprietor, Dale Mallatt, reports that he is being very generously patronized.
Naturally, it takes people some time to get acquainted with the fact that the garage has reopened for business, and his business has been exceptionally good.
The people of the town and surrounding community should turn all their business toward this garage as it is an institution that is needed in any town.
Mr. Mallatt is an expert mechanic and can render you a service that is second to none.

FORDYCE — Chase. Mille says that he has had an unusually busy fall and winter business installing furnaces.
Mr. Mille represents two or three firms manufacturing some of the best furnaces on the market. He reports that he has enjoyed the best business in this line that he has had for many years.
His electric supply business has been rushing since the town has been connected up with the Minnesota Electric Company.
About half of the town has been wired and he hopes that the wiring will be complete within the next two or three weeks.

FORDYCE — The contract for the operation of Star Route No. 573443 from Wynot to Yankton and back has been let to Frank A. Seeley of Yankton, S.D. and he will begin operation of that route on Jan. 16.
The route will extend from Wynot to Yankton by way of St. Helena and return by way of Fordyce.

HARTINGTON - W.H. O’Gara of Laurel, representative for Cedar County in the Nebraska State Legislature, was elected Speaker of the House when the 50th session of the Legislature was gavelled into session for the year.
