Mapping skills

This fall, Nebraska Extension in Cedar County brought a program to local schools, focused on enhancing mapping skills for youth. This 4-H National Science Experiment allowed 70 youth to become ‘community designers’ and create a GIS map of their own unique vision of a park. Classrooms who participated included the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge fifth grade and the Randolph Elementary schools fifth and sixth grade. Laurel students are (above) Damien Miller, Evie Specht, Valarie Nelson and Hadley Nordby. Randolph students participating are Andee English, Eliel Marquez, Corby Robinson and Braelyn Brockman.
