HARTINGTON — The new fire truck for the Hartington Rural Fire Protection District was brought to Hartington last weekend and is ready for use in case of fire.

The unit is mounted on an F7 Ford, a 2 1/4--ton truck with a 150 horsepower engine.

The complete unit was built by the Luverne Fire Apparatus company, and cost approximately $7,500.

The new unit has a two-stage 500-gallon centrifugal pump mounted back of the cab and it also has a 350-gallon booster tank to use in fighting fires where there is no other water available.
