HARTINGTON — The Hartington 12-and-under Red team defeated Hartington 12U Navy 3-1 in baseball action here May 29.

An error put Hartington Red on the board in the top of the first. Brysn Baller started the game for Hartington Navy, surrendering two hits and two runs over three innings, while striking out nine.

Caleb Heimes stepped on the bump first for Hartington Red and didn’t give up a hit or a run over his one and one-third innings, striking out three.

Max Climer, Rex Lippert and Baller each collected one hit for Hartington Navy.

Eli Bensen went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Hartington Red at the plate.

Hartington Red had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game.

Blake Bensen and Bennett Sudbeck led the team with two walks each.

Hartington Red didn’t commit a single error in the field.

Blake Bensen had the most chances in the field with two.
