Area girls earn All State Honorable Mention status

OMAHA – Several area volleyball players earned post-season honors this week.

OMAHA — Several area volleyball players earned post-season honors this week.

The Omaha World Herald selected seven Cedar Catholic athletes as members of the Class C2 Honorable Mention team. Hartington-Newcastle was represented on the honor team by Olivia Grutsch.

Three Laurel-Concord-Coleridge volleyball players were also selected for the elite team.

Wynot had six on the honor team.

Class C2 All State Honorable Mention

Hartington-Newcastle: Olivia Grutsch. Cedar Catholic: Katy Jones, Lexi Eickhoff, Melayna McGregor, Lauren Bernecker, Annika Kuehn, Grace Wortmann, Lyndsey Hamilton. LCC: Rena Rasmussen, Mallory Eriksen, Carlie Kvols.

Class D2 All State Honorable Mention

Wynot: Sophia Geisen, Allison Wieseler, Kayla Pinkelman, Kinslee Heimes, Kenna Oligmueller, Myrah Sudbeck. Randolph: Alexis Backhaus.
