HARTINGTON—After 18 months of plotting, planning, and preparing, Hartington’s 125th birthday celebration is finally here.

Organizers are now praying-Mother Nature cooperates and they are able to pull off the four-day Q125 celebration without a hitch. The extravaganza will begin Friday morning when area residents and former residents can begin touring select area businesses to see what the local merchants have to offer.

WYNOT—Wynot School was recently complemented for daring to be different and daring to make changes. “Last year you were told you couldn’t — but you did it,” said Superintendent Dan Hoesing.

Hoesing said the school has already taken innovative steps before becoming part of an inter-local agreement for sharing with Laurel-Concord, Coleridge, and Newcastle Schools one year ago.

HARTINGTON—The new coat of paint will barely be dry-but the car with two front ends made famous in the Centennial will be back in town for another big parade.

The unique car, which was built for the Hartington Centennial parade in 1983, was made by attaching the front ends of two cars together to make one car.

Five Hartington residents had a hand in creating the one-of-a-kind car 25 years ago.
