COLERIDGE — Rhonda Alberts, Coleridge, and Guy Wohlman, Hartington, were united in marriage on Dec. 9 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington. Pastor David Astrup officiated the ceremony.

LAUREL— For the third time in as many years, the Battle Creek Braves won the Randolph Holiday tournament.
Laurel’s contenders outscored their foes by just two 64-62. Jeremy Reinoehl led the way by tallying 19 points, and Carstensen was close behind with 15. Jared Reinoehl marked down 11, while Erwin had 10 and Rasmussen had seven.

LAUREL-LCHS met Plainview at Randolph’s holiday tournament and won over them for a second time. The Bears were off to a fast start leading 25-11 after one quarter of play. Marking at the hoop for a very impressive night was Cody Carstensen with 30 points. Tyler Erwin also had a good night by tallying 17 points, while Jeremy Reinoehl had 9, Shane Schuster had 8, Travis Stingley and Jared Reinoehl each had 4, while Ben Dahl and Rich Rasmussen each tallied two. Bears won 76-66.

LAUREL- Family physician, Dale E. Michels, M.D. of Lincoln, originally of Laurel, was recently appointed chair of the Committee on Health Education of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

LAUREL-In the consolation round of the Randolph Holiday tournament, the L-C Lady Bears defeated the Plainview Pirettes 66-60. Led by Samantha Felber who had Laurel’s first seven points, the girls jumped out to a 15-7 first quarter lead. Felber again dominated the statistics with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Krie tallied an impressive 11 and Becky Schroeder and Cathy Mohr were close behind with nine apiece.

LAUREL — Samantha Felber, a senior at LCHS was recently awarded an academic scholarship from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln.
The daughter of Dr. Dave and Linda Felber, she received a President’s Scholarship valued at $6,000 over four years.

LAUREL — The Laurel-Concord girls’ basketball team opened the Randolph Holiday Tournament losing to second rated Battle Creek 64-28.
Leading the Lady Bears in both scoring and rebounding was Samantha Felber, who tallied 10 and 6 respectively.
Others making it on the scoring sheet were Dawn Wickett, 4, Amanda Hartung and Becky Schroeder, 3 each, Tracy Ankeny and LeAnn Stewart, 2 each and Kari Kraemer and Natasha Kardell with one a piece. Schroeder and Alisa Krie each marked four rebounds.
