1983: Donut and coffee shop makes return to Hartington

COLERIDGE — Galen and Les Hoffart of Hoffart Motors are the new authorized dealer, for Chrysler Corporation in Coleridge. They recently purchased Larry Cook Motors, of which Larry and Marlyce Cook had been proprietors for the past 10 years. The Hoffarts held an Open House at their newbusiness on Friday.

Nov. 23, 1983

HARTINGTON — Hartington again has a donut shop.Steve McGregor, a 1983 Cedar Catholic High School graduate, has teamed up witha Yankton businessman to bring donuts and rolls to Hartington once again.The town has been without a donut source since Your Bakery and Market closedat the end of August.

The Coffee Break, located on the east side of Broadway Street, one door north of Reiferts, opened Nov. 8 and features 17 varieties of rolls and donuts, as well as coffee. There is seating for 30 people in two rooms.

HARTINGTON — The Hartington Public One-Act took first place honors in the Clark Division One Act contest held in Wynot.Coleridge earned second place and Wynot took third place.
