1928: Sheriff recovers stolen car near Hartington

HARTINGTON — Sheriff Peter Clarence found a Chrysler car abandoned between Laurel and Belden to be in good condition but out of gas. It is thought to be a stolen car.

HARTINGTON — Sheriff Peter Clarence found a Chrysler car abandoned between Laurel and Belden to be in good condition but out of gas.
It is thought to be a stolen car. Sheriff Clarence has found a second stolen car about three miles northwest of town.
The car belonged to Deward Erickson and was taken while he was attending the McOwen stock show.

HARTINGTON — Four Hartington youths had quite an adventure as they journeyed to the Chicago World’s Fair together and then back to Hartington in a Model T Ford.
The four were Lawrence Wurtz, David Ewing, John Christensen, and Wayne Ewing.
