Ready for play

The Village of Belden recently took on one very large project when the park known as Arnold’s Park received new playground equipment. Local residents wanted to make it a safe place for kids to play and decided that a new playground was needed. Project leader Chris Aldrich coordinated this project with help from the Community Club members and Village Board Chair Janice Wobbenhorst. The Village received a $10,000 grant from Lower Elkhorn Natural Resource District and donations to assist in building the new playground. Many hands helped construct the new playground with 25 volunteers on board. Country Nursery of Wayne finished the project off by completing the landscaping around the playground to help with the drainage. On Sept. 26, volunteers, Village Board members, and a representative from the LENRD were present to celebrate the completion.
