Aug. 4, 2011, Gov. Dave Heinemann — Aug. 4, 2011, Gov. Dave Heinemann helped the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben Foundation honor scholarship recipients at a special reception at the Governor’s Residence. Gov. Heineman welcomed 61 scholars and additional guests to a tour of the residence and an outdoor barbeque reception. Among those honored were 50 Ak-Sar-Ben Horatio Alger Scholarship recipients. Leanna Gubbels of Laurel (above) and Morgan Arduser of Coleridge were both honored at the event.
