Heidi Lewon (pictured above) works on her hat design. A total of 15 Cedar County youth came to a 4-H workshop to learn about the art of pyrography, exploring design skills and learning essential safety practices when using a wood burner to burn their design into a suede hat. Youth also learned about fabric dye by ice dying a yard of fabric. Their final project of the workshop included creating a jewelry box out of recycled wooden boxes donated by the Bank of Hartington.
